Lip balm is one of the easiest DIY beauty product you can make at home. If you are looking for a fully customisable lip balm formula look no further!

Ingredients

Phase %w/w input Ingredient

A 52.80 Castor oil
A 15.00 Hemp seed oil
A 5.00 Olive oil
A 5.00 Almond oil
A 5.00 Avocado oil
A 5.00 Borage oil
A 5.00 Carnauba wax
A 5.00 Candelilla wax

B 1.50 Tocopherols - mixed
B 0.70 Mandarin (Citrus reticulata) peel essential oil

Method

1. Combine phase A and heat to 75⁰C. Stir under low shear to combine materials. Ensure all waxes are melted before continuing.

2. Ensure phase A is homogenously blended, then allow to cool to approx. 65⁰C (just above setting temperature).

3. Add phase B to phase A and stir through under low shear until homogenous. Maintain product just above melting point while pouring off.

4. Allow product to cool <25⁰C before capping; product may cavitate while cooling and need a small top up.
