Moringa oil benefits: what makes the seed oil different
Moringa seed oil, also called ben oil, is around 70% oleic acid and also contains behenic acid, a long-chain fatty acid that is uncommon in plant oils. That mix gives it some useful properties:
- Very stable: it is slow to go rancid, so it can help the shelf life of blends that use more delicate oils.
- Light, silky feel: it spreads easily and absorbs well, so it suits face oils without feeling greasy.
- Mild aroma: it will not compete with essential oils or fragrance.
Ways to use it: as 20 to 100% of a face oil, 10 to 30% of a hair serum to smooth ends and add shine, 3 to 10% in the oil phase of creams, or as a base for balms and lip oils. Store it cool and dark, tightly closed.
Pairs well with
Argan Oil, Rosehip Oil, Jojoba Oil and Vitamin E Oil.
