Description: Castor Oil is a hexane-free cosmetic oil (INCI: Ricinus Communis Seed Oil) pressed from the seeds of the castor plant. It is one of the thickest plant oils, made up mostly of ricinoleic acid, which gives it a rich, cushioning feel and a natural shine. Formulators use it in lip balms, glosses and lipsticks, hair and scalp oils, brow and lash conditioners, balms and oil cleansers. How to Enjoy Castor Oil: For hair, mix 1 part castor oil with 2 to 3 parts lighter oil, massage into the scalp and lengths, leave for 30 minutes or overnight, then shampoo out. For brows and lashes, apply a small amount with a clean spoolie at night and keep it out of the eyes. For skin, apply a few drops to damp skin on dry areas such as elbows, heels and cuticles. Can I use castor oil on my face? Yes, but it is very thick, so most people dilute it to 10 to 30% in a lighter oil such as Jojoba Oil or Almond Oil rather than using it alone. Patch test first.

How is it different from Jamaican black castor oil? Jamaican black castor oil is made from roasted seeds, which gives it a dark colour and smoky smell.
